Ancelotti defends Chuameni good performance as centre-back
Carlo Ancelotti has defended Aurelien Chuameni saying. He is good at centre-back despite the 24-year-old midfielder becoming an oil slicker in his side’s latest defeat to Barcelona.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has defended Aurelien Chuameni. Claiming the 24-year-old was a weak link in their 5-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana final. According to Diario AS on Wednesday ทางเข้า UFABET
Ancelotti made his first media appearance since Sunday’s humiliating defeat to arch-rivals Barcelona in Jeddah. With the Italian coach having to answer two questions from the press. Namely whether to field Tchouameni at centre-back ahead of Raul Asensio and whether to deploy Lucas Vazquez at right-back.

‘I think Chuameni plays well as a centre-back because the data says so. As soon as we don’t have an emergency, he plays as a central midfielder.’
‘I think Asensio is a central defender and to play him as a centre-back. He needs time because he’s not used to that position yet. He’s played very well in the games he’s played. But don’t forget he’s only been here for two months.’
Ancelotti also said the recent defeat to Barcelona was just a one-off result. But that he had assessed and found a solution, looking ahead to the rest of the season.
‘It’s a step back but we have to move forward for the rest of the season. We are in a good position in all competitions. Obviously it was a bad game, we assessed it and looked for solutions.’
Ancelotti also insists he doesn’t care about criticism of his decisions. Except for personal criticism that makes him unhappy.
‘I don’t follow the hype that one day you’re the best team in the world and the next you’re the best. I have the necessary balance that experience has given me. To know who I am and not let the waves take me away. Otherwise, one day you’re the best and the next you’re the biggest fool.’
‘I don’t think I’m the best, but I don’t think I’m the best either, but I’m not the stupidest either.’
